Radiance Mineral Foundation Application
Mineral Foundation Application

To test which Radiance Loose Mineral Foundation colour is right for you take Q-tips, one for each color, and draw a line with each of the foundation powders down the center of the forehead. Let it set on your skin for a minute and then take a look to see which color matches your natural skin tone the best. This will be your base color.

Use your base color over your entire face, neck and décolleté. You can use the lighter powder to highlight (around the eyes, cheek bones, T-zone, bridge of nose) and the darker of the powders for contouring (create cheek bones, under your chin, lightly on the temples).

Most Caucasians will match one of our foundations but if not  then you will need to custom blend your base color. It is not difficult, so don’t worry. Keep in mind that it just has to be close to your natural skin tone and does not have to match perfectly.

To custom blend your base color, choose the color that most resembles your natural skin tone. Using equal parts (1/8 teaspoon to start) take 1 part of the closest color, if this color is too dark for your complexion add 1 part of the lighter color, mix it together well and then do the Q-tip test again on your forehead, allowing it to set for one minute. Alternately, if the color is too light, use the same method to mix with one part of the darker color. Keep adding one part at a time until you arrive at your desired tone. You will be applying blush or bronzer to complete your look, so keep that in mind when you are blending your foundation color.  Custom blending is especially helpful as your skin darkens or lightens with seasonal changes.

IF YOU HAVE MATURE OR OILY SKIN OR NEED MORE "STAYING POWER" MAKE SURE AND APPLY OUR PRIME PERFECT BEFORE APPLYING YOUR FOUNDATION.

Dry Application using Radiance Angle Powder Brush

Gently dab your Radiance Powder Brush (use the Powder Dome Brush for light application and blendin or the Powder Deluxe Buffer for medium application and blending) into your base colour sifter jar, ensuring that mineral foundation is evenly worked into the hairs of the brush, gently tap off any excess minerals into the lid. Starting at the center of your Forehead brush the minerals onto one side your face, using circular motions working downward toward your chin to blend evenly. You may need to pick up more mineral foundation on your brush before continuing to apply on the other side of your face. Finish by blending-in the nose, mouth and chin. Make sure to cover your neck and décolleté as this will ensure an even look and protect delicate exposed skin from UV rays.

Follow Steps 2 - 4 under Wet Application. Once you have completed these steps you may want to blend in your eye area with the Radiance Powder Brush.  There should be no need to pick up any more minerals onto your brush at this time, just use the brush to gently smooth out the mineral foundation.

Set your minerals: tilt you head back and close your eyes. Lightly spray the area above your face and let the Radiance Facial Spritz fall onto your face. Alternately you could use our Tinted Matti-Fi to finish (which incidently is also perfect for touch-ups during the day).  Now you look Radiant!

Wet Application using Radiance Facial Spritz & Flocked Sponge

For those who are use to a liquid foundation or require lighter coverage, you might want to try using a wet application of your mineral foundation. This will give a lighter coverage with a more matte finish. Sprinkle a small amount of the base color into the lid of your sifter jar. Spray your Radiance Facial Spritz lightly onto the end of your Radiance Flocked Sponge and dip it into the mineral powders in the lid of your sifter jar. Quickly apply evenly all over the enter face, working side to side, starting at the forehead. It may take more than one dip. Just remember to lightly spray your flocked sponge before dipping into minerals to apply more or to blend uneven areas.

For under-eye circles, we suggest using Radiance Concealor (for your skin color), gently dot under the eye where there is darkness, starting at where the nose and tear duct meet and working outward above the ocular bone. Using your Radiance Camouflage #10 Brush, lightly blend using feather-like strokes, until a natural appearance is achieved.

Alternately you can use your loose mineral foundation by spraying your Radiance Camouflage #10 Brush with Radiance Facial Spritz to dampen and then dip into your minerals and feather to blend under the eye moving outwards along the ocular bone towards your temple until completely blended.

To Cover Blemishes

To cover raised blemishes: Dip a Q-tip into your darker pigment and dab directly in the center of the blemish and then continue to gently press minerals around the outside edges of the bump, next dip a Q-tip into your base color or the lightest mineral color and randomly blend around the bump until it is unnoticeable. For dark spots (i.e.: freckles, red spots, scars etc.) dip a Q-tip into your lighter pigment and dab directly on the spot and then all around the spot to blend.

Remember to cover bumps, blemishes, etc. after you have applied loose mineral foundation to your entire face. Often if you try and cover them before this step, they are still noticeable.

To minimize any dark or red crevices in the face: around the nose or under the lower lip, you can dot a small amount of concealor and blend well with the Radiance Camouflage #10 Brush.

To finish your look gently dab your Radiance Angle Power Brush into your base colour sifter jar, ensuring that mineral foundation is even worked into the hairs of the brush, gently tap off any excess minerals and starting at the center of your face brush the mineral onto your face, using circular motions to blend evenly. Make sure to cover your neck and décolleté as this will ensure an even look and protect delicate exposed skin.

Set your minerals – tilt you head and close your eyes. Lightly spray the area above your face and let the Radiance Spritz fall onto your face. Alternately you could use our Tinted Matti-Fi to finish (which incidently is also perfect for touch-ups during the day). Now don’t you feel and look Radiant?
